The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun state says one person has died while two others have been left with various degrees of injuries in an auto accident that involved two vehicles at the Toll-Gate, Sango-Ota, area on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.
Naija New understands that the accident occurred at about 12:45 am on Tuesday, April 23.
The accident involving five persons was said to have occurred after a MAN Dieseled Truck with registration number AAA-515 XM lost control due to break failure on the expressway while on its way to Lagos and rammed into a Mazda Spacewagon bus marked GGE-250 BB.
The Sector Commander of the Ogun FRSC, Clement Oladele, confirmed the accident while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday.
Oladele in his statement said that five persons were involved in the accident that resulted in the death of one, while two others were injured.
“The corpse of the victim had been deposited at the morgue of the Ifo General Hospital, while the survivors were taken to the General Hospital, Sango-Ota, for an intensive treatment,’’ he said.
The sector commander said that normalcy had been restored to ease the free-flow of traffic in the area.
While briefing newsmen on the incident, Oladele, however, advised motorists to be cautious and refrain from acts that could lead to loss of lives and properties on the Nigerian roads.
He urged the drivers to always cross-check their vehicles to make sure that their vehicles are in good shapes before hitting the road.
