The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced results of Saturday’s governorship elections from 10 local government areas in Zamfara State.
According to the result that was announced by the electoral body in Gusau by the Returning Officer in the state, Prof. Kabiru Bala, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Mukhtar Shehu Idris is leading with 356,971, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 131,710 votes.
Other political parties which contested in the state election are the National Rescue Movement and All Progressive Grand Alliance.
NAN revealed that the State Returning Officer had received results from Anka, Bakura, Birnin Magaji, Bukkuyum, Bumgudu, Gummi, Kaura Namoda, Maradun, Talata Mafara and Zurmi local government areas.
The collation of results for the remaining four local government areas in the state will resume by 9:00 am.
