Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale isn’t keen on returning to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Bale, 29, was a hero for Spurs that he joined in 2007 from Southampton. He scored 49 goals in his final three seasons.
From Spurs he moved on to Real Madrid for a world-record fee in 2013, where he won the Champions League four times.
However, injuries have taken their toll on Bale, and amid a disappointing season and continued accusations of not integrating in Spain having failed to learn the language, he’s been linked away.
His £600,000-a-week wages would be a concern anyway, even if Spurs were able to pay a portion of his salary, and it’s thought that Bale isn’t in a rush to quit Madrid anyway.
Instead Bale who is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and an undisclosed Chinese club wants to move an ‘elite’ club to match his headline status in the world game.
