Nigeria billionaire, Femi Otedola has finally redeemed his promise to assist Ex-Green Eagles skipper and one time Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu to travel to the United Kingdom for further medical treatment.
Otedola made the promise after reports emerged that Chukwu was down with an undisclosed ailment this month.
On Wednesday morning, Otedola gave a cheque of $50,000 (N18m) through the Chief Operating Officer of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited Philip Akinola in Enugu. Zenon is one of Otedola’s companies.
Present were the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and Editor, Saturday Vanguard, Onochie Anibeze.
“The governor just called to thank me immensely and I spoke with Christian Chukwu too. He will be flown abroad next week. I told him he will be fine and I will make sure he is provided with the best health services,” Otedola said.
